Bo Diddley

Reputations are built by repetition. And if there is one guy in the music business who understood this, it is Bo Diddley. In the mid fifties he came up with a certain junglebeat rhythm and had a huge hit with this gimmick. Even if you haven’t a clue what I am talking about, you will recognize the rhythm immediately when you hear it. Bo Diddley used it for the rest of life on almost every record he made. But the first cut is the deepest, and this ‘55 TV appearance is worth all the later re-makes.
