Dirk Koorn told me about one of his record finds: a bootleg of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. When he took the record out, at home, it turned out that the wrong record was in the sleeve. That was also a bootleg, of a concert that Ten Years After gave at Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Not only was the sound quality extremely poor, it was also side 3&4, with side 1&2 missing.
I love such stories. I have bought many of such records too, and i wish i hadn’t done them away but kept them to wrote about them! It sure would have made more interesting stories than some of the stories that i did wrote in this blog.
Dirk also gave me some records, like this 45 of Willie Mitchell:
The reason i am very happy with this record is that i have been collecting 45’s with song titles that have only numbers in it for years. I would love to make a cd compilation with songs that all have only numbers in the title, just to see the track list. But it is hard to find such songs. If you happen to have some, please let me know.
Willie Mitchell recorded some cool soul instrumentals, and this 45 is no exception. Here is “20-75”:
