Unchained melody

Sunday, 5 July 2009

The idea that I mentioned yesterday, and on several other days in the past, is so exciting for me that I hardly know how to write about it. Of course, the few times that I tried to explain it to friends and ended up with empty hands, sure helps to have some doubts with writing about this idea. But here is another song that I cannot possibly listen to as an ordinary love song. It is ”Unchained melody”, which was a hit in the version of The Righteous Brothers. The lyrics
me read like an excerpt from the bible:

Oh, my love
my darling
I’ve hunger
ed for your touch
a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God, speed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow to the sea,
to the sea
to the open arms of the sea
lonely rivers sigh ‘wait for me, wait for me’
I’ll be coming home wait for me

Oh, my love
my darling
I’ve hungered for your touch
a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God, speed your love to
