Half of my family comes from Zierikzee, Zeeland. As a child I was fascinated by the stories that my uncles and aunts told about the 1953 disaster, when the sea destroyed the dikes and dunes. One uncle had a book with pictures of the disaster, and only much later I saw moving images of what had happened. Recently a documentary was made with fullcolour footage, shot by private persons. There is always more information than we know of.
This documentary may not mean much to you, but it reminds me of some stories that touched me deeply.
