Cosmic Consciousness

I belong to the people who have been fascinated by the possibility to develop one’s mental possibilities from an early age on. This lead to reading and listening to a lot of nonsense, but it also lead to the realisation that it is true: our mind has (or is) a doorway to stuff that is way beyond our wildest imagination. There is what Tony Parsons calls an “Open secret” in Life. Life is not what we think it is. Life is a very strange mystery, that under certain circumstances can be experienced as what it really is. But it is difficult to say something about these experiences, or about the insights derived from such experiences, that makes sense to people who have not had them yet. Still some people try it, and I admire everybody who ever tried it.
Among my favourite records that deal with this subject is the LP Attaining Cosmic Consciousness. The record was released by The Rosicrucian Order Amorc, in the late 60’s or early 70’s, I guess. It was part of a series that included other records with titles like Science of mysticism, Meditation moods and Child guidance.
I have some of these other LP’s too, but I like Attaining Cosmic Consciousness the best. Ralph M. Lewis knows what he is talking about and he is not wasting words on irrelevant details. Knowing that it is impossible to give people an experience by using only language , Ralph M. Lewis does a great job here.
