Mystery track 1

Wednesday, 3 October 2007

Here is something new: a mystery track. Every few weeks I want to try to offer you a track from my record collection that I think nobody will recognize. But try if you like it. The best guess wins a prize. And if you don’t know the name of the artists or the title of the song: if you guess the year in which it was recorded, the country where it comes from or come up with any other good clue, it might be enough.

As many record collectors will know, we have an instinct for the place and the time where a record was made. It doesn’t happen very often that you haven’t a clue where a record comes from. Especially the date is usually fairly easy to recognise, within one or two years.
I always dreamed of a compilation CD with songs that come from all corners of this SpaceTime continuum, but that defy any recognition. If you have any suggestions for such a compilation, I would love to hear them.
Here is the first mystery track:

I’ve heard this many times but I still have to guess: Dave Pike Set’s “Mathar”?

Milan! It is indeed “Mathar”, but not the Dave Pike set. Still, i am surprised.

i think it was released under different artist names, compare it to the Dave Pike song Mathar on the site i gave earlier
