All jazz is one

Monday, 10 March 2008

In a radio show called De Schatkamer, broadcasted in July 1997, Hans Stibbe and Remco Scha demonstrated their idea that all jazz is one. What they meant by that is that that the interaction between jazz musicians doesn’t exist, except as an idea in the head of the listener. I was immediately convinced. Here is a recording of that radio show.
Apart from the idea and the demonstrations, which I find fascinating, it is also interesting to hear the ego’s clashing here and there. And it is pretty funny too. It is all in Dutch of course, but the demonstrations should speak for themselves, especially those at the end of the show.
