Time traveller's wife

Wednesday, 14 January 2009

I just re-read ”The time traveller’s wife”, a novel by Audrey Niffenegger.

It was even better than the first time. I got to read the book because Gerdie-Marian had read the book and told me that I should read it. Shew lend me her copy, I read it and she was right: this is my kind of book! Last month, when I was sick, she gave me a copy of my own. A nice surprise!
It is a love story and a time travel story. And in both categories it is one of the best things I have ever read. I made scans of the first few pages. I was hooked right away when I read these, so I hope you are too:

Writing about time travel always creates paradoxes. Audrey Niffenegger created some of the most original time travel paradoxes and she finds ways to solve them too! Up until the very last pages you are in for more surprises that you can imagine. Well, more than I could imagine.
More than once I was so occupied with the characters in the book that the novel seemed more real than my own life. Man, I wish there were more books like this, and that I knew w the titles!

A great read indeed! If you hear of any other novels, I’d like to know them as well.
